Friday, noon - EACH week careless truck drivers cause chaos for Grantham's rail and road users by driving into bridges in the town.
We've decided enough is enough and are launching a campaign to educate drivers and their employers about how to avoid driving into bridges.
Everytime a bridge is hit we're going to write to the company involved to give them advice on how to avoid doing it again.
Grantham has three bridges in Network Rail's list of the 10 most hit each year - Springfield Road, Harlaxton Road and Barrowby Road.
The bridges were hit more than 60 times between them in 2007, causing traffic tailbacks and delays for rail users.
On Tuesday afternoon it happened again.
A lorry carrying another lorry on its back hit Barrowby Road railway bridge when the driver, from Boston firm Boston Commercials, underestimated the height of his load. The collision left his cargo dangling precariously.
Barrowby Road was blocked in both directions.
Network Rail says 32 per cent of accidents happen because drivers are unaware of the height of their vehicles, 26 per cent because lorry-mounted crane arms are left raised and 11 per cent because drivers fail to drive in the centre of the road to allow for an arch.
