PLANS for the future of Grantham Hospital will depend on the outcome of a public consultation on health services in the county by Lincolnshire Primary Care Trust.
A spokesman for the PCT said: "Lincolnshire PCT has been gathering stakeholders' opinions, views and comments over recent months at meetings and workshops that have been held across the county.
"The PCT originally planned to start the consultation i
n April however, due to the significant number of responses from people, the PCT needed to take all the feedback into account to ensure the consultation is informed and shaped by proper stakeholder engagement and dialogue, and organised in a structured way.
"As a result the consultation will now begin on the 9th May and end on the 9th August 2007.
"The PCT is looking at all services provided across hospitals in Lincolnshire, including Grantham Hospital, and options for future services will be included in the consultation."
United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust chief execurive Gary Walker said: "This is the first time that the Trust has looked as far ahead into the future and put together a three year plan.
"We will continue to look further ahead but as our document states, we will need to look at the long term future of the Trust based on the outcome of Lincolnshire PCT's consultation.
"We at United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust will continue to improve our services to provide safe and appropriate care of the highest possible quality in as many locations as possible."
