I feel sadness at what our town has become

I WAS born in Grantham in 1947 and have spent all of my life here. I have always felt fortunate to live in such a clean, attractive market town. However, much of its charm and so many of its amenities have disappeared over the past few years, and been replaced with rubbish in doorways and streets and unkempt, empty buildings and a lack of care generally.

I write not in anger, it is more with sadness. I can only hope that our council will find whatever it takes to bring our town back to the place it once was so that we, and future generations to come, will take a genuine pride in living in Grantham once again.
