Is anyone listening to wind turbine fears?

Since the erection of the Frinckley Farm Wind wind turbine, and noting the application to SKDC for a Wind Turbine installation at Allington, villagers in the Carlton Scroop, Normanton and Barkston areas have become increasingly concerned about the unfettered proliferation of such visually destructive developments in the rolling landscape of South Kesteven.

However, there is little evidence of concern on the part of local district council members, who seem more interested in traditional party politics rather than involvement with, and representation of, the longer term local interests of the electorate that returns them.

Carlton Scroop and Normanton Action on Wind Turbines has lodged a further strenuous objection with SKDC in respect of the proposed Carlton Scroop development.

Our objection emphasises the detrimental impact of such proposals on the landscape, which is totally contrary to SKDC’s declared policies on the environment, and demands that both a full Environmental Impact Assessment be undertaken (as required by Town & Country Planning Acts), and that realistic, timely, on-site assessments take place on the impact noise, flicker, and mere turbine presence would have on both wildlife and local residents.

Readers concerned with the proliferation of such developments around in the Grantham / South Kesteven area and keen to keep in touch with emerging developments can join our email news service at carltonscroop@gmail.com.

The landscape impact of the Frinckley Farm Turbine can be seen in the attached image viewed from Honington Church.

Wind Farms are going to happen what ever you or any one else says so why not find some thing useful to moan about, like Jobs for your Kids and Grand Kids. Perhaps i have found a future for the Un employed. ERECTING WIND TURBINES.

basically no... they are part of the future of power generation in this country ... they will happen .. to be efficient they need to be close to consumers to minimise transmition losses .. to max local benefits in construction and maintenance upkeep employement and take advantage of local windy spots ... this will benefit everyone in the area ... money earnt by these systems , paid out in the district will eventually be spent in the area .... If they are not built here , they will most likely be sited of shore like the ones at skeg etc .. Fine you say ... but ... The costs are far higher , more dangerous to install and maintain....and less efficient And who owns all the seabed around the uk and would therefore get a nice little income ... God bless her ,,, Most of the time the people shouting against this are the not in my back yard brigade .... or more to the point not with in view of ie 15 miles , my backyard ... ..

Mike - It is an uphill struggle everywhere - that is why I started the petition below. Please sign it and do all you can to get others in your area to do the same. We need to get the Government onside, as well as local councils and others, if we are going to stop these wind turbines being built. Are you disillusioned by rising electricity prices, over dependence on the "green" dream [especially uneconomical and inefficient wind farms] and the destruction of our countryside then please register your objection to the Government by GOOGLING "E-PETITION 22958" and following the link. Please pass this message on to Councillors, members of your community and anyone else you know to persuade them to sign up too. If you are really concerned about wind turbines please write a letter promoting this petition to your local Newsletter and to the Editors of your local newspapers.
