Poor grades are not linked to free meals

I would like to say that releasing the GCSE league table is maybe a positive move to reiterate the successful steps being taken to improve the grades at all the schools in the Lincs area.

However, I fail to understand the free school meals table. I have no connection with St Hughs School, but this simply highlights the social issues connected to the school’s pupils, their parents and its community.

I fail to see the connection between exam results and the incapability of pupils to achieve A*-C grades, because they are ‘poorer and are on free school meals’.
