The determined Di deserves a medal
What a brilliant job Di Ablewhite did in tracing the relatives of the lost airmen that crashed near Long Bennington.
To spend 11 years doing so is truly a labour of love, and for that she deserves the gratitude of us all.
It is not how or where you die in a war that’s important, it’s being prepared to enlist in the first place that matters. Once again though Di you deserve a medal of your own for making sure these brave men are never forgotten. For that, I thank you.

Sunday, February 5, 2012 at 05:50 PMThankyou for your kind comments David, glad you found the story interesting and worthy of telling. Of course I didn't do all the work on my own, there is a small team of us who work together and have all played our part in preserving the memory of this crew, one of our main objectives was to also provide information for the relatives of these men who often knew very little about what happened to them. We do have a short online film about the project and its background, again made primarily for the relatives who couldn't join us at the Rededication service in 2010. but I'm sure they wouldn't mind me sharing the link with interested parties, www.vimeo.com14431980 ,again I hope you find it of interest, Di Ablewhite
