lA dozen Grantham schoolboys wrote to the Journal in protest at fox hunting. One of the boys wrote: “How can this possibly be called a sport? The fox just did not have a chance.”

lA three-year-old was saved from serious injury by his parents’ decision to move his cot. The toddler’s cot was moved into his parents’ bedroom because he was suffering from tonsillitis. Soon after, the roof of the child’s bedroom collapsed due to high gales.

lCases of drunkenness and cases of drink driving were on the increase in Grantham.
