Mr J. E. Tinkler
MR John Edward Tinkler (Ted), has died at his home in Stathern. He was 76.
Born at Colston Bassett, he had three brothers and one sister.
He attended school in Stathern.
Mr Tinkler began his working life at Clamp’s Farm. He then worked as a lorry driver.
He was married to Dorothy and they had four children, John, Val, Ann and Gill, followed later by 10 grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Mr Tinkler enjoyed the simple pleasures in life - his garden, animals, especially dogs and particularly corgis. He also enjoyed taking friends’ dogs for a walk.
He liked to watch horse racing on a Saturday afternoon and meeting his friends for a drink on a Sunday lunchtime.
He was an independent man, a real joker and always ready to help other people.
The funeral service was held at St Guthlac’s Church, Stathern, conducted by the Rev Dr Mark Smith. Cremation followed in Grantham.
Pall-bearers were Derek Meadows, Scott Meadows, George Marriott, Mick Smith, Alan Topp and Kevin Beardsley.

Funeral arrangements were by William Roberts and Sons, Devon Lane, Bottesford.
