MR Ian Stanley Pearce, of Greenacres, Barrowby, has died in Grantham Hospital. He was 83.

He was born in East Grinstead, West Sussex, in May 1928 and he had two brothers.

He was married for 40 years until his divorce. He leaves five children, nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

His first job on leaving school, was working on the family farm. He was next employed as a post office driver, and then later worked as an ambulance driver until setting up a milk dairy business.

When he moved to Grantham, he worked as a taxi driver, until being employed as a crane driver at John Lee Sacks. He then took early retirement.

Mr Pearce was keen on DIY. He loved doing jobs and helping family members. He also had four dogs.

The Rev Peter Hopkins conducted the funeral service at Grantham Crematorium Chapel.

Family mourners included: Patrick Pearce, Michelle Pearce, Liz Goode, John Goode, Mike Pearce, Richard Pearce, Marabel Pearce, Bernard Pearace, Julie Pearce, Niall Pearce, Paul Goode, Mark Goode, Christopher Goode, Susan Goode, Mrs V. Garnham and Mr C. Garnham.

Other mourners included: Mrs Caddy, Mrs Davison, Scott Railton and Becky Johnson.

Funeral arrangements were by David Holland Funeral Directors, London Road, Grantham.

Donations for the British Heart Foundation amount to £45 to date.
