Mrs F. Pulford

MRS Freda Pulford has died at home. She was 84 years.

Born in Sudbrook, she was the daughter of Edward and Mary Lightfoot and had a sister, Cathy.

She attended Ancaster School.

In 1957 she married Frederick Pulford and they had two children, Andrew and David, and two grandchildren, Nicola and Adam.

Her husband predeceased her in 1986.

On leaving school she went to work at Byards Leap Cafe. She then joined Woolworths in Sleaford, where she remained until the birth of her children. When her children were older she returned to Woolworths and stayed until taking retirement to look after her husband.

In her younger years Mrs Pulford was involved with Ancaster Church.

She enjoyed holidays at the coast and she devoted her life to her family and friends.

The funeral service was held at St Martin’s Church, Ancaster, conducted by the Rev Alan Littlewood. Burial followed in Ancaster.

Family mourners included: Andrew and Carole Pulford, David Pulford, Adam Pulford, Nicola Pulford, Richard Jeffery, Cecil and Amy Pulford, Melvyn and Lynda Gill and Joyce Awcock.

Other mourners included: Elizabeth Ironmonger, Sue Ramsey, Betty Engledow, Mr and Mrs Wright, Audrey Cheesbrough, George Robinson, Ivy Robinson, Ann Dennis, Sue Davey, Jo Watson, Alison Bristow, Sam Burrows, Amy Burrows, baby Mia Kitchen, Lucy Taylor, Peter Pratt, Nell Talkes, Dawn Barron, Shirley Barron, David Bristow, Helen Bristow, Lisa Watters, Andy Cullum, Amy Clark and baby Louis, Julie Overton and Maureen Pearson.

Funeral arrangements were by Co-operative Funeralcare, Bridge End Road, Grantham.

Donations were received for St Barnabas Hospice and Marie Curie Cancer Care.
