A DRIVER branded a dozy parker has got in touch to explain what happened.
The Renault Scenic driver, who has asked to remain anonymous, got in touch with the Journal to say he had broken down, and had not simply abandoned the car where he felt like.

He said: "Having broken down on Sunday lunchtime at the Manthorpe Road traffic lights I thought it better to push the car up a hill onto the comparitively little used Lodge Way rather than leaving it where it was blocking one of the main thoroughfares into Grantham.

"I informed the police why the car was there but in the meantime somebody with nothing better to do decided to take a photo. Their time would have been better spent coming to our assistance and helping to push it further up the hill.

"I feel it is a sad reflection on today's society that they would try to criticise someone rather than be a good samaritan and offer to help."
