Ghosts have been spotted in a popular town centre pub, according to the landlady - so we sent in the Journal's ghosthunter Nik Stevens and psychic medium Joanne Jordan to investigate.
The Blue Pig, in Vine Street, has many regulars who enjoy a few pints every once in a while, and it seems they are remaining regular visitors in the afterlife.
Landlady Rachael Evans, 31, runs the pub with her partner Dave Foster, and she has witnessed a few strange happenings.
She said: "Twice within a couple of weeks I've seen a man with no face walking across the pub.
"He was wearing a smart dark suit and a pillar box red hankerchief in his chest pocket.
"It was about three or four o'clock in the morning and I was on my own. It wasn't frightening, I even said hello to him the second time."
She described what she had seen to the owner of Arnold's Greengrocers, in Swinegate, and was told the description fitted that of a former landlord.
Nik said: "Charles Luke was a landlord in the early 1970s, and he has been seen looking not too happy.
"He's very recognisable because he always wore a morning suit and a red hankerchief in a pocket. He's been sighted several times around the building."
Sitting in the area where Rachael claims to have seen the spirit, Joanne said: "It's like a video replay.
"It happens where there has been a very strong emotional link to an area, and this would have been his living quarters."
Another incident occurred while a group of Rachael's friends were drinking at a table in the same spot.
She claims their drinks flew off the table three times in the space of half an hour.
She said: "The table was dry and they were putting their drinks down in the middle of it. It was very weird."
