Thursday, 1.55pm - STUDENTS at KGGS set a school record by achieving an outstanding 99.6 per cent pass rate in their A-level results today.
The percentage of students achieving A and B grade passes was 57 per cent, matching the schools best ever performance.

Headteacher Graham Burks said: "I'm really pleased for the parents and the girls. We have achieved the highest pass rates we have ever achieved at the school.

"The results speak for themselves, we have 13 students achieving four or five straight A's at A-level whish is absolutely outstanding.

"We have five Oxbridge candidates this year and they are all going. Many of the girls are going to the top universities in the country so I'm really, really pleased."

  • STUDENTS at Grantham College exceeded the national average once again, with students achieving 94 per cent pass rate.

Fourteen out of the 23 A-level subjects taught at the school recorded a 100 per cent pass rate, with many students taking up places at university.

Alex Jarvis of Grantham recorded the highest points score the college has ever had in English Language.

Her tutor Ian Mitchell said: "She has worked very hard and has great ability.

"Alex has really blossomed because initially she was very shy."

College principal Malcolm Saville said: "There were a very high number of entries this year and we are delighted that our students performed consistently well.

"This year's results match the high expectations that we have for our students and they- and the staff- are to be congratulated on their excellent performance after two years of very hard work."
