Friday, 3.15pm - SONGWRITER Georgina Callaghan played a concert at Kesteven and Grantham Girls' School today as part of her campaign to get a single in the Top 40.
Georgina - professionally known simply as Callaghan - hopes to get her single Look Around into the charts without the backing of a manager or record label.

The 25-year-old former KGGS pupil has been writing songs since she was 14 and for the last five years has been performing on London's acoustic scene.

The single is released on Saturday, October 26 and Georgina hopes to break into the Top 40 if she can sell around 2,500 copies.

It is available to pre-order online for 79p, and Georgina hopes that enough people will have bought copies of the song to get in the Top 40 on Sunday, November 1.

Proceeds from sales of the single will go to Live Music Now, a charity which aims to provide young musicians with paid performance opportunities in venues like prisons, hospitals and hospices.
