Learn to play Gamelan instruments

Have a go and learn to play the stunning instruments of the traditional Javanese Gamelan made up of a collection of drums, giant Gongs, Xylophones and Metallaphones.
Indonesian Gamelan Music and Drumming workshops are run by the Firebird Gamelan Ensemble in Lincoln.
The workshops run on Tuesdays from 7-9pm starting on September 23 at the Gamelan Room, City of Lincoln Community College, Skellingthorpe Road, Lincoln.
They are suitable for complete beginners as well as experienced musicians and music teachers. The sessions will focus on learning to play traditional Javanese Gamelan percussion music using the instruments.
These are fun sessions and an opportunity to learn something new, make new friends and enjoy making music together even if you've never played an instrument before as well as an opportunity to join the performing group.
Drop in for a one-off session or come to the full course. Cost is £5 per session. Places are limited and all instruments are provided.

The Gamelan is also available for bookings by groups of up to 16 people of all ages and abilities; schools, colleges, community groups and corporate and training events.
