The much-acclaimed Oasby Summer Consort will be in concert at Belvoir Castle for the sixth year on Saturday July 19.
They will perform madrigals and part-songs and also short sacred pieces together with instrumental items featuring Sally Anthony on piano and harpsichord. The music will range from the 15th to the 20th centuries.
Once again the Consort will have the hugely-talented Hinson family as guest players clarinettist Nigel, Nadia (violin/piano) and their children Jake (clarinet) and Sophie (violin) who are both studying in the Royal Academy of Music children's section.

Nigel's is recognised as an authority on Artie Shaw and actually plays one of the big band leaders clarinets. Last year he was privileged to give the World Premier of a piece written for him by the great contemporary composer Richard Rodney Bennett as part of Bennett's 70th birthday celebrations. Nadia is the leader of the Veloce Chamber Ensemble as well as teaching.

The concert will take place in the beautiful setting of the ballroom, which has superb acoustics. There will be a wine bar from 5.30pm.

A combined ticket for pre-concert supper in the Castle from 5.30 is available at £21 by pre-booking on 01476 871004. Parking for the concert will be on the battlements.

7.30pm: £8.50 (£4 for those at school):01476 871004 or from 01529 455246.
