I WRITE in response to the number of recent letters in the Journal about road accidents involving cats.
I read one letter which stated the driver of a car had hit a cat and not stopped to contact the owner. If the cat did not have contact details on a collar, what is the driver meant to do? Go and knock on all doors in the area?

While the death of a family pet is upsetting, if you have a cat and let it roam, you have to accept that accidents happen. I am 71, and hit a cat which caused £175 worth of damage to my car. I claimed on my insurance and lost my no claims bonus.
