09/05/08 - Cheveley Park residents are being consulted - not ignored
IN reply to the article "We've been ignored, say Cheveley Park residents", (Grantham Journal 2/5/08).
As the authority responsible for planning in relation to this development, SKDC is not in a position to notify the residents about a
development until a planning application is received.
Once received, we have a set deadline to determine an application and part of the process is to notify and consult with local residents and anyone who it is felt will be affected by the development.
In the article, the residents commented "all we are asking is to be consulted and considered by the planners".
This is what SKDC is currently in the process of doing.
In this case, the application was advertised in the appropriate press, site notices were put up and letters sent to all residents and occupiers of neighbouring properties, within two weeks of receiving the application.
The letters provided information about the development together with an opportunity to send back objections and feedback.
We will take into account all the information we receive, when determining the application.
