MR SHORROCK is wrong to say that it is an exclusion zone.
It is a Designated Public Place Order which does not stop people enjoying themselves by having a glass of wine or beer with their picnic in the park or enjoying a drink outside a cafe.
What is does do is stop the daily scenes we see on St Peter's Hill and in Wyndham Park where youths drink and start causing a nuisance to passersby.
With regards to the proposed gate in Redcross Street would he like to see residents continue to live a life under constant attack by drunken youths who damage residents' vehicles and make their lives a misery?

RAY WOOTTEN
Councillor, St Wulfram's Ward
