18/07/08 - Those darn'd cats are a pain

I AGREE with the letter about cats (Journal, July 4).
I have spent years turning my garden into a wildlife area - buying plants to attract insects, putting up nest boxes and getting the right food for birds.

One cat in particular gets stuck in my tree regularly, has fallen into the pond, broken down trellis, smashed pots, eats food left for the hedgehog and uses my garden as its toilet.

This hungry animal is seen wandering by day and appears to be left out all night in all weathers.
There would be an outcry if dogs wandered in and out of gardens.

So please, if you have a cat, think of other animal lovers.
