AS the organiser of the anti-housing transfer campaign I can honestly say that the majority of the tenants still think that South Kesteven District Council is a good landlord and that they are doing their best in difficult circumstances.

Since 73 per cent of tenants decided to stay with the district council both parties are now pulling together and I am optimistic about the future of council housing in South Kesteven.

Actually I understand that when The Audit Commission did a "mystery shopper" exercise and inspectors visited the area offices they were pleasantly surprised by the level of commitment and knowledge of the customer services staff. Coun Paul Carpenter is quite right – the report is concerned with the administration and monitoring of processes and not level of service.

Let us change the "uncertain prospects for improvement".There has been too much negativity.
