NORMALLY I would have read Mr William Johnston's letter about creation (Journal, September 19), had a chuckle and moved on, but considering the rise of Sarah Palin in the USA and the work of Dr Gibson and colleagues, his letter is actually very topical and deserves a response.
Palin, like Mr Johnston, is a creationist and it worries me that someone with such a strange one-eyed view of the universe may some day hold a position of power in the world. Not only do their beliefs deny scientific theory, but also many other people's religion.
Hasn't Mr Johnston heard of the law of averages? Oh yes, he probably doesn't believe in that either!
