Despite my support for wind farms I can see where the attitudes of recent correspondents are coming from.
Both have missed the point. Firstly coal and carbon capture is a reasonable argument except the pits were distmantled long ago and the pit heads turned into country parks. This was hailed as progress by the same minded people as those who protest against wind farms today. Ask the people of Cotgrave etc whether they want their pits open again.
The government has already said it is committed to building nuclear power stations. But there are already those who would rather die than see this type of power expanded.
So, no to wind farms, no to wave/barrier schemes, no to reopening pits, no to nuclear. Where now? Back to candles?
Tom Kennedy,
Cropwell Butler.
