A SPECIAL Memory Lane photo this week as ex-players gathered to replicate a photograph hanging on the wall at the White Lion pub in Colsterworth.

The original photograph shows Colsterworth under-16s football team in 1961 - the year the side went unbeaten and won the Bytham Junior League and Cup double.

Back Row L-R: Pete Love, Ken (Mac) Taylor, Alan Jessop, Brian (Jacko) Jackson, David Hall (missing), Wilbur Watson. Front Row L-R: Chris Gardener (missing), David Hotchin, Roy (Blackie) Blackmore, Brian (Titch) Caudwell, Mick (Deckie) Dexter.

The idea for a reunion came about when centre-forward Ken Taylor returned to live in the village and all but two of the 11 players were able to attend.

Some of those present had not seen each other in 40 to 50 years but they all enjoyed a buffet supper at the White Lion.

Pictured in the original photograph from 1961 are: (back row, from left) Pete Love, Ken Taylor, Alan Jessop, Brian Jackson, David Hall, Wilbur Watson; (front row, from left) Chris Gardener, David Hotchin, Roy Blackmore, Brian Caudwell, Mick Dexter.

The only players missing from the reunion picture are David Hall and Chris Gardener.
