AIR Ministry staff posed for this photo after they left St Vincent’s to be rehoused in Bridgewater House, Belton.

Christopher Johnson of North Wales sent the photo in after coming across it the collection belonging to his father, Raymond R. Johnson.

Christopher decided to send in the photo after seeing a similar picture of VE celebrations at St Vincent’s.

He said: “My father retired from the then Ministry of Works in 1972 and was awarded the BEM for his loyal service . This presentation was featured in your newspaper at the time.”

Raymond Johnson wrote the names of all the people pictured directly onto the photograph. With the help of a magnifying glass, his son has been able to name almost everyone.
