Entertainment for youngsters in the form of a puppet show will raise money for the Journal Children’s Fund: Christmas Cracker Appeal.

District councillor Ian Selby and storyteller Betty Elmer will perform a fun-filled puppet show featuring three stories on Grantham Market on Saturday.
Coun Selby said: “We are both looking forward to it very much.”

Betty added: “We are aiming to strike the sparks of imagination in the children and we are very much looking forward to doing it.
“The stories are based on classic fairytales, but they are new and fit with the puppets that we have.”

The shows will be on at 11am, 12pm and 1pm, and will last around 30 minutes.

It is hoped the puppet show will also act as a boost for the town’s market, which is the focus of Love Your Market fortnight (May 15-29).
