Army veteran Andy Reid received a standing ovation when he spoke at a recent dinner organised by the Rotary Club of Grantham Kesteven.

After giving a humorous account of his military experiences, he went on to describe his role as an infantryman on patrol in Helmand Province, Afghanistan.

Andy’s tour of duty ended abruptly with an encounter with an IED which left him
a triple amputee. With great determination he refused to become an invalid and
regained his mobility in record time.

This has now enabled
Andy to participate in many charity events, publish his autobiography and to fulfil his fondest wish by marrying his girlfriend Claire. Together they are looking forward to bringing up son William.

The dinner raised £840 which will be split between the Army Benevolent Fund and the South Lincolnshire Blind Society.
