Tuesday, 2.30pm - A FANTASY tale based on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's fictional detective Sherlock Holmes is performed at Grantham's Guildhall Arts Centre tonight. The Death and Life of Sherlock Holmes stars Roger Llewellyn as the famous detective.

The story finds Conan Doyle tiring of his 'intolerably arrogant Sherlock Holmes' and inventing the malevolent Moriarty to dispose of him.

However, Doyle's dangerous strategy, combined with his passion for raising the spirits of the dead, has a rather more surreal and dramatic consequence than he bargains for.

The play is written by David Stuart Davies and directed by Gareth Armstrong with original music by Simon Slater.

It is a follow-up to Sherlock Holmes - The Last Act, which toured for seven years and won massive critical acclaim.

Tickets at 9 (7) are available from the Guildhall Arts Centre box office on 01476 406158 or at www.guildhallartscentre.com
