GRANTHAM band That Sunday Feeling are riding high after touring with McFly and will set off on their first headline tour this weekend.

The band, made up of Grantham lads Pete Coppin on drums, singer/songwriter Joe Atkinson, Dave Stevens on guitar and Corby Glen’s Jay Imlach on bass, begin their nine-date tour on Saturday at Manchester Academy before finishing at Nottingham Rock City on Saturday August 6.

Pete said: “We’re very excited. It’s nice to finally do a tour we are the ones headlining it rather than supporting.”

The shows have been selling well but tickets are still available for local fans to go and see the band at Rock City next month.

The unsigned foursome got their big break when they were picked to support McFly for part of the band’s tour earlier this year, performing at Wembley Arena, as well as O2 Arena’s in cities such as Liverpool, Glasgow and Birmingham.

Pete said: “Everything has just shot up since the McFly tour and we have a huge following now.

“Most of the dates we are playing sold out during the McFly tour.”

The lads hope the next step will see them being signed by a record label.

Pete said: “There’s been a few enquiries from the industry. It’s early days yet but things are on the move.”

The dates and venues for the tour are: July 23 - Manchester Academy, July 24 - Sheffield O2 Academy2, July 29 Cardiff Uni Solus, July 30 Bristol o2 Academy, July 31 - London Islington O2 Academy, August 2 - The Cathouse, Glasgow, August 3 - Newcastle O2 Academy2, August 5 - Birmingham O2 Academy3, August 6 - Nottingham Rock City.
