Colsterworth-based Newton’s Players will tackled John Godber’s comedy Up ‘n’ Under next week.
A former Laurence Olivier Comedy of the Year, the story centres on the amateur rugby team from the Wheatsheaf Arms who can only ever muster four players, play in sandals and hold the not-so-proud record of having lost every game they have played. They then find themselves the subject of an outrageous bet to take on the mighty Cobblers Arms, the best side in the north of England.
Containing mild nudity, some bad language and some even worse singing, the play will be performed at Colsterworth Village Hall on Friday and Saturday, November 23 and 24, kicking off at 7.30pm with the bar open from 6.45pm. Tickets are available from Colsterworth Post Office, by calling 01476 861936, or on-line at www.newtonsplayers.co.uk
