Comedy thriller It Could Be Any One of Us will be performed by St Peter's Hill Players this week.Grantham's oldest amateur dramatic group has taken on the Alan
Ayckbourn play, which pokes fun at the whodunnit? genre.
The familiar plot is a send-up of the traditional Agatha Christie-style story - with a windswept country house, a thunderstorm, a family of failures, a detective who has never solved a case, and a number of characters wrangling over a bequest.
But Ayckbourn's script contains a number of surprises. The victim is not who we at first believe it will be, the murderer could be one of three people and the thrills are leavened throughout with tongue-in-cheek humour and slyly ironic comment.
Performances are at 7.30pm from Wednesday, November 12, to Saturday, November 15.
Tickets are available from the Guildhall Arts Centre on 01476 406158 or www.guildhallartscentre.com Prices are 6.50 for the Wednesday performance and 7.50 Thursday to Saturday.
