This August Bank Holiday Sunday and Monday, Belvoir Castle is the venue for the largest historical re-enactment in the UK - performed by The Sealed Knot who are the biggest re-enactment society in Europe. After 360 years the villainous Royalist Rob-Carrier Gervase Lucas brings his marauding 'Cormorants' back to Belvoir Castle and the Vale again echoes to the sounds of plunder, fire and sword!

With cannon and musket firing and hooves thundering you will be able to see the Royalist reign brought to a terrible and bloody end by the formidable army of Parliament.

In addition to the excitement of the battle there is a huge Living History encampment showing how people lived in the 17th Century. There is a special children's guided tour in which they will be offered the King's shilling and even learn how to be a pikeman!

A great day out that's educational and lots of fun too!

Upgrade your ticket to include a visit to the castle and gardens at half normal price.

11am to 4pm:10, children 5, family 25.
