A woman from Grantham has been chosen as a regional semi-finalist in the Spectacle Wearer of the Year competition run by Specsavers.

Neesha Ramsingh-Cleary, 40, was chosen from hundreds of entries from across the Midlands. If she wins, she will get £10,000 and a luxury holiday in the Bahamas.

The awards celebrate specs wearers from the UK and Republic of Ireland, across four age categories: 15-24; 25-39; 40-59 and 60+.

The awards were launched by Girls Aloud singer and West End star Kimberley Walsh earlier this year, who Neesha could meet at the awards ceremony in London next month if she triumphs in her age category.
