Tuesday, 2.30pm - APPRENTICES from learning centre yes have made it through to the East Midlands final of the Lincolnshire and Rutland Learning and Skills Council Apprenticeship Awards.
They have been combining working with studying at Grantham College, and the awards mark their hard work. They triumphed at the first stage and will attend the finals later this month.

James Shaw, from St Hugh's Maths and Computing College, and Luke Kemp, from Grantham Church High School, are completing engineering programmes and are finalists for Young Apprentice of the Year.

Apprentice of the Year is the title Kirsty Garton, a hairdressing apprentice at Scots Hair Design, is hoping to win.

Kirsty said: "It is fantastic to be nominated for Apprentice of the Year, and this will not only improve my confidence but also spur me on to achieve my NVQ Level 3 to the highest standard."

Scots Hair Design, in Swinegate, has also been nominated for an award - Small Employer of the Year.

Owner Jennifer Low said: "It is wonderful to be nominated for the Small Employer of the Year award. It is so nice as it is recognition for the hard work and the high standards of both my team and our apprentices."

BGB Engineering is a finalist for Medium Employer of the Year.
