Friday, 9.30pm - A CAR was smashed through the front of house in East Avenue, Grantham, this afternoon.
The accident happened at about 5pm, when a Renault Kangoo was driven into a Citroen Xantia parked in the driveway of the house.

The parked car smashed through the front of the property, and the Kangoo narrowly avoided damaging a car in an adjacent drive.

The driver of the Kangoo and a passenger were freed from the car by firefighters and taken to hospital. Neither are thought to be seriously injured.

Jock and Jayne Robertson, the owners of the house, were away from home at the time of the accident but were alerted by their daughter, who lives nearby.

Mr Richardson said: "It must have been a shock to the neighbours.

"Nobody was hurt and that's the main thing."

Building inspectors from South Kesteven District Council have assessed the building's structural safety.

Members of the Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue search and rescue team are working to shore up the damaged building.
