Cash stolen from elderly woman

Friday, 2.10pm - DISTRACTION burglars stole cash from the home on an elderly woman in Turnor Crescent, Grantham, on Wednesday lunchtime.
A man knocked on the door of the home of the 86-year-old and asked if he could go inside to check the water.

He then pulled the kitchen door shut to stop the victim seeing his accomplice enter the property.

A few minutes later a man knocked on the door and called the first man away. After the men had gone the woman discovered that someone had been through her bedroom drawers.

Yesterday morning she also found that cash had been stolen from her lounge.

The first man was white, youngish, with dark hair and of medium build. He was wearing a white shirt and tie. The second man was tall and thin.

Police have warned householders to watch out for bogus callers and not to allow people into their homes inless they can verify their identity.
