Wednesday, 1.45pm -JOURNAL cartoonist Terry Shelbourne met children at a family fun day at Grantham Museum on Saturday.
The event was organised to tie in with an exhibition of Terry's work currently on display at the museum.
Terry was joined by caricaturist Rory Hadley who drew cartoons of visitors to the event.
Children were also able to take part in a number o
f art activities and storyteller Betty Elmer told traditional folk tales.
Terry said: "It was smashing - it was a lovely sunny day and there were loads of kids there.
"I think everybody had a good time."
The event was organised by community engagement officer Julie Ashworth as part of museums and galleries month.
Most of the items on display in the exhibition are Terry's cartoon's from the Journal but some previously unseen pieces from Terry's private collection are also on show.
Grantham Museum hosts a health, wellbeing and holitics day event called Innovate Your Mind and Body on Saturday, also as part of museums and galleries month.
From 10.30am to 12.30pm a traditional soap-making class takes place. A reflexology taster session will be held from 1.30pm to 2.30pm and a crystal healing taster session takes place from 3pm to 4pm.
From 4pm a half-hour local innovators tour will look at inventive Granthamians Henry Preston, Sir Isaac Newton, Richard Hornsby and James Coultas.
Booking is required for all the daytime events.
From 5pm to 8pm a range of stalls will offer sample therapies, health checks, make-up demonstrations, health food advice and much more.
