Thursday, 11.50am - CASH was stolen by distraction thieves posing as water board officials in Springfield Road on Tuesday morning (July 7).
The victim answered the door to a man at 11am who said there had been a leak in the next door property and he needed to turn the water off.

The thief showed an identification badge with a photo on it but no documents or company logo was seen.

When the man left the victim found cash had been stolen from an upstairs room.

The thief is described as a short, white man, with short, curly blond hair, clean shaven with a spotty complexion and in his 30s.

If you have seen any suspicious activity or have been approached by anyone claiming to be from the water board, call police on 01476 402222 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
