Wednesday, 6am - AROUND 10,000 people visited Belvoir Castle Steam Fair over the weekend to enjoy attractions ranging from vintage vehicles to falconry displays.
Attractions included dancing diggers, re-enactment groups, helicopter flights, fairground rides and model vehicles.

The fair also hosted a record number of vintage tractors - around 340 in all. Several Aveling Barford machines built in Grantham were on display.

Members of Grantham Classic Car club displayed 260 vintage vehicles on Sunday. There were also 72 steam engines on show.

One of the most unusual exhibits was an amphibious tank used in the Normandy landings in the Second World War.

Paul Appleton, one of the organisers of the event, said: "It was glorious in Sunday and there was a huge crowd.

"A lot of people pulled together to put the event on."

Next year's steam fair will take place on Saturday and Sunday May 16 and 17 2009.
