Wednesday, 3pm - THIEVES stole an ornamental dog of great sentimental value from an elderly woman's garden on Sunday.
Elizabeth Harrison, of Byron Avenue, opened her front door on Sunday morning to find her treasured Scottie dog ornament missing.

It was a gift made by her son Eddie 25 years ago, who died suddenly in 2004 from a heart attack.

Elizabeth, 84, said: "It's made of concrete and I couldn't have moved it but somehow they did.

"I've been very upset. I've lived there for 11 years and it's been there all this time.

"I hope they are parents and realise what the dog means to me."

If you have spotted the ornament, call Elizabeth's daughter Valerie Ancliffe on 07968 645415.
