Wednesday, 1pm - DENTON Primary School has embarked on two new ventures - the introduction of hot dinners and the launch of its website.
The school introduced hot lunches last month and they have been very popular with pupils and parents alike.

An outside catering company organises the meals on a three-weekly rotating menu and delivers them fresh to the school each day.

Head teacher Sheriden Edwards said: "It's all really delicious and there's very little waste after the children have eaten.

"They love it and all the children will have a go. If they're not sure about a dish they will still try it and they're surprising themselves with the kind of meals they are enjoying.

"It's good for parents as well, because when they children are home and they're tired they can just have a sandwich or some soup because they've had their hot meal already."

The website was launched on Tuesday.

Parents can access useful information about the school, plus find links to other websites giving information about family groups and childcare services.

Plus children can try their luck with interactive games.

Mrs Edwards said: "I'm really proud of it. It's something I wanted to bring to the school.

"We send letters home but they don't always get there, they get screwed up at the bottom of bags or left in the cloakroom.

"We won't have to rely on children to be postmen because parents can access information online."
