Monday, 11am - AN aspiring actress has been accepted by a performing arts academy, but she will be unable to go if she cannot raise enough money to pay for her tuition fees.
Leanne Carr, of Ascot Drive, Grantham, has been offered a place at the Midlands Academy of Dance and Drama, Nottingham, in September, but she is struggling to raise the £4,200 she needs for her first year.
The three-year musical theatre course will cost £12,600 in total, and she is appealing to anyone who can help to get in touch.
Leanne, 20, said: "I've written to lots of businesses already asking for help and I'm saving money myself.
"People and companies willing to give a donation or sponsorship will receive regular updates on my progress and tickets to all of my future shows as a small token of my appreciation."
Leanne took acting lessons aged five and later joined the Grantham School of Dance.
She took advantage of the performing arts focus at Walton Girls' High School and went on to study at Brooksby Melton College.
She said: "I don't where the passion comes from, I just loving acting and I want an Oscar one day.
"Doing this course will give me the experience and training that is needed to have a successful career in the performing arts industry.
"A lot of people who have gone to the academy now have leading roles in the West End."
