Brave villagers have stripped off for a calendar to raise money for Ancaster Athletic Junior Football Club.
The calender will be unveiled tonight at the village social club and all the models, who include a teacher, butcher, mechanic and postmaster, are expected to be there.

The suggestion for the WI-style calendar came from fund-raiser Jon Pain at a meeting of the club which was formed earlier this year.

He mentioned the idea to his wife Sandy when he got home and she rounded up volunteers to take part and organised the services of professional photographer Tony Meredith who gave his time for free.

Tony even appears on the front of the calender as a fencer with a mask to hide his face and a strategically placed thigh to protect his modesty.

One of the cheeky photographs in the calendar, featuring from left – Jon Pain, Adrian Fovargue, Karl Mitchell and Darron Talton.

Other models include postmaster Peter Hind at his counter, butcher Spencer Baker wearing nothing but an apron around his waist and teacher David West in his classroom.

Club chairman and coach Darron Talton (Mr November) said: "It was all a bit surreal. It didn't feel natural but we took it as a good laugh.

"Thanks must go to all the models and sponsors with special thanks to Sandy Ford-Pain for all the organising and Tony Meredith for his expertise in using all his skills to make us all easier on the eye than we actually are."

Calendars are priced at £6 each or £10 for 2, and are on sale in Ancaster shops from Saturday. Anybody interested in stocking the calendars should contact Darron (Tel: 01529 497001).
