Wednesday, 3.50pm - ROGUE traders are targeting Great Gonerby, police have warned this week.
Men posing as landscape gardeners charged a pensioner living in Kelham Road in the village £300 to work on her front and back gardens.

Very little work was done and the men have disappeared with the money.

PC Karla Bullimore said: "Basically they dug up a few weeds, dumped a load of soil in her dustbin and she's never seen them since - they're clearly conmen.

"We are warning elderly people and their relatives and friends to be on the lookout for anyone offering their services at their door.

"If you don't know someone at your door and they haven't made an appointment to see you then just don't answer.

"Don't even engage in conversation with them.

"The same goes for anyone claiming to be from a gas or water company. Genuine officials or workmen do not turn up unannounced.

"So if someone is claiming to be from a utility firm then get in touch with us straight away. Certainly do not let them into your home."
