Tuesday, noon - A MAN and a woman appeared in court today to deny causing the deaths of Swinstead couple Mark Crompton and Jodie Brown.
Mark, 20, and Jodie, 19, died last May after their car broke down on a southbound stretch of the road at Great Ponton.

Lincoln Crown Court heard the pair, of High Street, Swinstead, were killed after their vehicle was in collision with a Jaguar XJ8.

Mary Butres, 46, and John Nichols, 57, who were in the Jaguar, today each denied two charges of causing death by dangerous driving.

Butres, of St Mary's Street, Stamford, and Nichols, of Manor Road, Carlby, Stamford, were granted bail to face trial at a later date.

Mark worked as a refuse collector for South Kesteven District Council and Jodie was employed by Liberator as an administration clerk and also worked as a waitress at The Coachman Inn, Corby Glen.
