ARSONISTS targeted the same street in South Witham twice this week.

Around 14ft of bushes were set on fire in the first blaze, which started at around 11pm on Monday, October 31, in Troughton Walk.

This fire spread to a shed but fire and rescue managed to extinguish the blaze and no one was hurt.

A similar incident took place in the early hours of yesterday morning (Thursday) in the same road.

An offender set fire to a sofa, which spread to a fence and damaged bicycles and a car.

Again, the blaze was extinguished by fire and rescue and no one was hurt.

A police spokesman said: “These offences could easily have spread to houses and endangered lives and police are appealing for anyone with any information to come forward and help them with their enquiries.”
