Bank empties its community fund and donates cash to a local good cause

BADGERS in Grantham have received a £1,000 donation from a major bank’s community fund.

NatWest made the donation to the St John Ambulance Grantham Division Badgers earlier this month. The Carers Federation - Action for Young Carers and St Barnabas Hospice also received donations.

The good causes were shortlisted by a panel of local representatives after being nominated and put to a public vote. After a month of voting, The Carers Federation - Action for Young Carers gained the majority of votes and won £3,000.

The remaining £2,000 was split between the hospice and the Badgers.

Danny George, senior bank manager for NatWest in South Lincolnshire, said: “The NatWest Community Fund, which was set up in August as part of our banking charter, has really captured the imagination of the public and we have been overwhelmed by the volume of votes received for the good causes.”

Nationally, over 1,100 organisations will receive a donation.
