THE first triplets to be born in Bingham for 64 years celebrated their 18th birthday yesterday (Sunday).
Hannah, Ashley and Kathryn Marsh, of Hill Drive, Bingham, had a family barbecue to celebrate before going out with their friends.
Ashley said: “We are all quite close but the girls are joined at the hip. They’ve got the same friends and go out together.
“I let them do their thing.”
Parents Sue and Ian Marsh are very proud of their children.
Sue said: “We tried to bring them up to try and be independent rather than as a group so they have all got their own personalities.
“Kathryn is quite shy, Hannah is quite lively and Ashley is more independent.”
The independence shows as Ashley, who has been doing A-levels in chemistry, maths, physics and psychology, is hoping to go to university in September and the girls are staying at home to work in child care.
Hannah said some people do not even realise the three of them are related but she added: “If people call me by the wrong name I just go along with it! The advantages of being a triplet is that there’s always someone there for you, the disadvantages are that Kathryn and I never seem to be apart.”
