Bishop of Grantham to be consecrated in London on Thursday

The new Bishop of Grantham will be consecrated at a service in Southwark Cathedral on Thursday (November 19).

The Rev Dr Nicholas Alan Chamberlain will be consecrated in a ceremony at 11am.

There will be an opportunity to attend a diocesan service of welcome for the bishop at a later date. More details will be available soon.

The Rev Dr Chamberlain was previously vicar of the parish of St George and St Hilda, Jesmond, in the Diocese of Newcastle.

He was revealed as the new Bishop of Grantham in September at Little Gonerby Church of England Infant School. He replaces the Rt Rev Dr Tim Ellis who resigned in September 2013.
