Old Somerby is the latest area to benefit from the Councillor Big Society Fund thanks to support from the leader of Lincolnshire County Council Coun Martin Hill, and Coun Linda Wootten.
Both local county councillors have donated £312 each from their funds, to help with the maintenance of Old Somerby roundabout.
The area is the latest in a series of places to receive funding following a £500 donation to the old Folkingham play area last month by Coun Hill and £250 to the Grantham Royal Logistic Corps for sports kit, again in August by Coun Linda Wootten.
The money will be used by Old Somerby Parish Council to plant a range of flowers and maintain the general upkeep of the roundabout, providing an attractive feature for visitors driving through the area.
Coun Hill said: “Over the past few years, the parish council has worked hard to look after the roundabout and I’m sure this funding will help them continue to do so.
“This is another great example of how the Big Society Fund benefits communities and local areas around Lincolnshire.”
Coun Linda Wootten added: “I am very happy that the money will be put to good use helping keep Old Somerby roundabout looking good and an attractive gateway to Grantham.”
